 Emerging Artists 2011

SlowArt Productions presents Emerging Artists 2011, the 19th annual competition for group exhibition, and awards. Open to all artists working in any media this event is devoted to the discovery, introduction and promotion of emerging artists. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, digital and installation art, video, etc. are eligible. The exhibition will be held in April 2011 at the Limner Gallery and is open to all artists working in any media.

 * National Geographic Photography Contest 2010

The Categories for entries are: People, Places, and Nature. There is no limit on the number of entries per person. Each entry must comply with the following requirements - Minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable. Hand tinting is acceptable, as is cropping. Fish-eye lenses are acceptable. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are acceptable only if the combined parts are all made around the same time. Any changes to the original Photograph not itemized here are unacceptable and will render the Photograph ineligible for a prize.

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in expressing the contest theme. Winners will be published in the 2011 issue of the PDN Stock Guide and exhibited at the "GO INDIE" website.

 Salon Photo Prize

The Salon Photo Prize 2011 is the inaugural photography exhibition produced by Matt Roberts Arts. It is expected that up to 100 photographers will be exhibited at  gallery space in East London with one exhibitor winning the selectors' prize supported by 1000 Words Magazine which will consist of £1000 and a solo exhibition in 2012. Up to 3 images can be submitted at any theme.

 EPPhoto Black & White photo contest

This is an exciting contest for us all with a fantastic theme of Black & White photography. Now this theme has been set for you to run free and either create a new piece of work, or for you to use one from your archives. The subject can be anything you like, and we mean anything you like, but it must be black and white, this is a strict requirement, and any hint of mono with a color tinge, then it will not be included for the judges vote.

The Nikon Photo Contest International has been held by Nikon Corporation since 1969 to provide an opportunity for photographers around the world to communicate and to enrich photographic culture for professionals and amateurs alike.
Categories: free subject and "Energy” - expressive images from around the world that are true to people’s emotions. Possible to submit up to 2 images for each category.
There's NO restriction to images made by Nikon cameras only. Any film or digital camera photograph is accepted.

 FEP Fine Art Photograph of the Year 2010

The aim of this prize is to reward and stimulate creative initiatives by professional photographers, often bound to assignment work.

 * Hasselblad 2010 Masters Awards

The Hasselblad Masters Award is the most prestigious awards in the industry. Each year Hasselblad awards the title of Master photographers in a range of specially defined categories. Awards are granted in recognition of the photographer’s contribution to the art of photography and photographic ability in the areas of creativity, composition, conceptual strength, and technical skill. All winners will receive an equipment sponsorship agreement with Hasselblad wherein they will receive the use of an H4D digital camera system for use in the creation of images for the Masters program and for a special Masters Commemorative book to be published.

The Masters award is open to all active professional photographers. To be eligible for judging, submitted photos must be shot using some form of medium or large format system, regardless of brand. No 35mm photography will be accepted. 11 categories with up to 5 images in each:architecture, editorial, fashion/beauty, fine art, general photography, nature/landscape, portrait, product, up-and-coming, wedding/social and, for the first time, wildlife.

 Sakuraba International Artist Competition and Exhibition

Sakuraba Gallery hosts an art competition to recognize the best artists from outside of Japan. The artists that are selected to exhibit will be brought to Japan from their home country to attend the opening reception. Airfare, cost of hotel stay for up to ten days, and a small group tour of Sendai are included. Meals and spending money are not provided. The opening reception will be held on February 5th, 2011 at 19:00. The exhibition will be open from that day until April 2nd 2011.

The mission is to discover and support photographers beyond the simple award presentation. World Press Photo invites professional photographers and photojournalists from around the world to participate. All entries must include the personal and professional details of the participant as well as a full specification of all digitally submitted images in the form of all required metadata.
The photographer’s professional status must be established by providing a document of verification (press card, union membership card, letter of reference or other official document).

Single images in all categories must have been taken in 2010. Stories/portfolios entered in the categories Spot News, General News and People in the News must have been taken in 2010. Stories/portfolios entered in the remaining categories must have been completed or first published in 2010. Stories/portfolios must contain no less than 2 and no more than 12 images.
The content of the image must not be altered. Only retouching which conforms to currently accepted standards in the industry is allowed. Only single-frame images will be accepted. Composite and multiple exposure images will not be accepted. Images with added borders, backgrounds or other effects will not be accepted.
