Orphaned Land Mythology

Bookmark and Share

Orphaned Land is not about "sex, drugs and rock-n-roll". This group represents a new generation of rock music. They are talented Israeli musicians with a deep philosophy and an original perception of the world. Their music combines heavy metal, middle-eastern ethnic motives and classical music.

Orphaned Land have lots of fans around the world: not only in Israel, Europe and America, but also in Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and many other countries in the Middle East. Not only because they play a progressive ethnic metal, but because "progressive" is their way of life. They love Israel and emphasize their love for our country. And this fact not only does not deter their Muslim fans, on the contrary, they unite progressive Muslim  and non-Muslim youth around Middle Eastern democracy, through music and art.

Recently, our artist - the well-known Israeli photo-surrealist Dina Bova - made an unusual series of conceptual artworks that could be described as a "Mythology of Orphaned Land". This series includes individual and collective portraits that convey the personal characters of the musicians and the philosophical concept of their music.
